Marni Turner

As an experienced and compassionate counsellor, I am dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment where you can explore, communicate, and process your thoughts and emotions. I believe in your inherent strengths and resources, and I see my role as assisting you in accessing these inner capabilities to achieve your therapy goals. Together, we will work to enhance your self-awareness and insight, facilitating positive changes in the areas where you face challenges.
I am here to help you understand and shift patterns in your thinking, emotions, and behavior. My aim is to support you in finding the courage to navigate life’s challenges and discover a sense of meaning, purpose, and belonging.

My Professional Background

I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Vancouver, BC, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I am a long-standing Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. With over 20 years of experience, I have worked with adults, children, youth, couples, and families in various mental health settings, treatment centers, and community agencies. My roles have included Mental Health Clinician, Clinical Counsellor, Family Therapist, Couples Counsellor, Mediator, and Group Therapist.I have supported individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, trauma, addictions, self-harm, obsessive-compulsive behaviours, relationships issues, stress, grief and loss and problematic eating patterns.

Empowering Growth

Grounded in Adlerian principles, I believe our early life experiences shape core beliefs that influence our behavior. Some of these beliefs serve us well, while others may need adjustment to help us achieve our goals in well-being, relationships, family, community, and career. We all strive for acceptance, both from others and ourselves.

I adopt a holistic perspective, recognizing that each person views the world through a unique lens. My practice integrates various therapy modalities including Cognitive Behaviour
Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Emotionally
Focused Therapy, Emotion Focused Family Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Dialectical
Behaviour Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Techniques
